Expired medication?!

Question: If certain medications, like pain ones (Lortab) are over a year old are they dangerous to take? Would they still work?

MOST of the time the experation date means that after a certain age the medication will start to lose it's potency.

The problem is that you never know exactly how strong each pill is so some may be Half Strength but the one's at the bottom may be 3/4 strength...

So you can't just say "Screw it" and take 2...

Over 2 years old should be thrown out but a year old should still be OK to take...

Just be careful and still only follow the directions on the bottle...

Takeing medication dosing into your own hands is NEVER smart and messing with expired one's can end up messy!

Taking a medication that is not for the exact condition they were prescribed for is no different then taking an illegal street drug. (if you get caught) Go back to your doctor and tell them you are in pain if you need them.
