Go in the bathroom and sit on the toilet or chair and put a towel on the bottom of the door to keep in the air...put the shower on as hot as you can and let the humidity soothe you (dont stay in past the point where you can't take it because you don't want to pass out!)
Also gargle 1 teaspoon of salt with 1 cup of warm water...take a sip and gargle that for one minute then spit out
You can put vicks vapor rub or tiger balm on your neck...Alot of Asian will "coin" themselves where they take a quarter and rub it hard on their chest until some skin breaks open and put vapor rub on it, and supposedly that works as well...
Drink lots of hot fluids as well...Wear socks and keep yourself warm...

Cipacal spray works instantly.

Hot Toddy

2 shots Brandy

Put the brandy in a mug, filling the rest with hot Tea. Add 1 tblsp Honey and squeeze a slice of lemon into the mixture.

i know you said you have no lemons how about lemon tea or perhaps you can gargle salt water and definetly try to gargle some listerine it is an antiseptic and will clear you up quit well also use your soothers after ps. salt water is an cheap antiseptic

Try gargling with aspirin (as long as you've not been advised to avoid aspirin) as it will help relieve the pain, but also reduce any inflammation.

if it just a soar throat and nothing else... keep taking your soothers and only eat sort foods like soup or Mash Potatoe. try to avoid straining your throat by shouting or crying or anything like that....

Hot drinks are good but make sure they are not boiling hot. try to avoid cold drink as well as they can shock the area with the body having a basic temperature.

Cuddle up all snuggly warm and stay inside.

I hope you get better for Christmas day and have a great day.
