Would this make anybody gain weight?!

Question: If somebody had some kind of parasites, in their intestines or stomach, or someplace else linked to digestion and stuff like that. If that person has normal weight but gets the parasites removed, would that person gain weight since I heard that parasites "steal" some of the stuff you eat, therefore it makes it like that person is eating less...? I know its a weird question but, yeah.

Thanks!

Yes. Parasites such as tapeworms absorb nutrients from your food. They can make you anemic, sick, and some can cause serious liver and kidney disease.
When they are removed, if you continue to eat as before you will gain weight (since all the food will be absorbed by your body).
