Staph boil please help I'm in pain!!!!!?!
Question: Ok i went to the doc. last month with a staph boil on mi inner thigh. I had the doctor drain it and it was the most painfull thing i have ever been through. is this normal? Or did my doctor not know what he was doing? i have another boil on my stmoch and it looks exactly like the other boil. i have been puttin black salve on it and it is coming to a head . it is red and inflamed. is there anything i can do to get around goin through the pain of having it drained again? i have very good hygene and eat little sugar (i heard this helps reduce staph). how can i take care of this boil myself? and it the pain of having it drained normal? tips on draining it myself?
thanks

Draining a boil should not be that painful. Your doctor should have been more sensitive to your needs. For example, he could have given you a local, or at least given you something to relax you (like diazepam). My advice: purchase Boil Ease (it is a salve that brings boils to a head). Keep it covered with think gauze (so it doesn't get irritated). Clean with antibacterial soap and hot water. Place hot compresses on the boil whenever you can. When you can't, keep the Boil Ease salve on it. It should come to a head on it's own and should not cause the kind of pain you experienced at the doctor's office. (Also, see about getting a different doctor....one that is sensitive to you pain and your needs).
P.S. That black salve is good, but Boil Ease contains the same ingredients that the black salve contains PLUS a topical pain-reliever like Benzocaine 20%.
Good luck.
If you keep putting hot compresses on the boil, along with the salve, the boil should come to a head and drain by itself. But, if after several days, the boil gets bigger and harder, see a doctor who is willing to give you a local or something to relax you through the procedure. Good luck. Report It
