I think i'm addicted to cocaine?!
Question: I'm 15 and i tryed cocaine for the first ever time a week ago, i know i will be taking it again these holidays, i believe i am addicted to it as i feel like i want more now. I have tryed to stop thinking about it with other stuff but i just carnt as any one got ANY advise. thanks X

I usually don't say much to teens on here, but this got me. I lived through the '70s; trying everything, making tons of stupid decisions...I remember cocaine vividly.Just to stick the facts out there first- did you know cocaine can stop your heart at any time? (First use, second...it is indiscriminate)
I remember the craving of wanting more. It has been a very long time, yet while I sit here and write about this I can remember the taste running down the back of my throat. Now that is scary. You HAVE to be stronger than the drug. Do Not give in, please. I watched many friends wind up spending their lives in and out of jail for this sruff. I watched some of them die. I was lucky, being too broke to get what I craved. Eventually I figured out that the effects of the drug were not as great as it was hyped up to be. Here's another fact- did you know that it makes you want to have sex, but (for men) you can't get it up/get off while you're on it? You have to wait till it wears off. Gets very dull for the female. (I apologize if this offends someone, but I want this boy to know the truth, and why NOT to do cocaine)
It doesn't make you pick your face like meth does, but you will damage your health. Do you want to be an old man earlier than the other guys in your class?
The very short, temporary buzz from cocaine will turn you into a confident, belligerent, a**hole. You will lose your real friends and have only druggies and other idiots to hang out with. People will say; "He used to be such a nice guy."
Put it in your head that you are strong enough to say no, no matter how much it calls to you. Laugh at it and walk away. You must. I can't legally recommend a beer or joint in it's place, but I will say either of those are nuch safer in both the short and long run. I'd say you totally are. If you can't stop thinking about it, then you're probably craving it. Please try to be careful honey! :D
Stay away from it? It might be hard but just don't do it, you'll pull out of it, and if you really need it, go to rehab. They will really help you. Good luck, I hope you make the right choice.

The first thing you need to do it not go anywhere you think the drug will be. I am sure you just dont have it lying around your house, so make sure you do not associate with or be around ANYONE who remotely is associated with the drug.
Secondly, talk to your parents IMMEDIATELY. Explain everything to them, do not leave anything out. Tell them where you first tried it and any effects you have felt since then. Have them take you to the emergency room ASAP to get checked out.
Finally, even though you have only tried it once, because you said you think you are already addicted, you need to get into a drug treatment program right away. This is something you can talk to your parents about as well.
The most important thing is to stay completely away from anyone doing any type of drug (even pot). These people are not your friends and are not looking out for your best interest.
Stay away from it. that sh!t will destroy your life. I am 40 (I know you think that is really old) but I ruined my life the the 90's. I lost EVERYTHING...and now have to start over. Home, jobs, school, family.
you really might want to think about going to an N/A (narcotics anonymous) meeting- hear what those people have to say. Coke is a nasty nasty drug. (they all are) and you will ONLY end up in jails, institutions, or death.
Speak to your parents immediately! Tell them what you have done and that you want help. You have taken a big step admitting that you feel you have a problem and doing it early enough to get a handle on it before it ruins your life as well as the lives of all those around you that love you and care about you. If you fear speaking to parents find a school counselor, a minister, priest, some spiritual counsel that can listen and help guide you without worry of breaking your trust. Do not go it alone. This is a good place to get some generic advice but you need to seek help you can count on at a moments notice and that you feel comfortable with.
I hope you find the answer to get clean and stay that way. Just say no is pretty cliche' but it's still the best thing. You have so much in life to look forward to. Don't ruin it by letting drugs become your focus.
If you have any spiritual foundation in your life I also recommend prayer to help you deal with your situation. You don't have to do it alone. If all else fails search the Internet for drug abuse hot line or drug addiction support using your local area to find something nearby.
