Fear rushing through my body while sleeping?!

Question: When I'm sleeping, I get waken up in the middle of the night by this feeling of fear rushing through my body. It starts from my head and in about 1 second it ends at my toes.

This happens to me about 2 times a day.

I usually wake up breathing hard like someone just tried to chock me.

Help?

It's called night terrors. Same thing as a Panic Attack..short of breath, heart pounding, sweating...See a Doc..there are good meds that work so you can get some sleep...Don't Ignore it.

wow that's serious. seek counseling

not to get all physic on you but maybe your soul is trying to leave your body while your sleep if you watch montel then you may hear sylvia brown talking about that so...

Sounds like some type of night anxiety attacks. while you are self, your guard is down and it may relate to some waking hour situation. Speak to your doctor or pastor.

you watch too much horro movie

why are you afraid eliminate that and your good no more fear sweet dreams

This sounds like an anxiety or panic attack. You need to talk with a doctor. Often heavy psychological or emotional stress is the cause.

Try sleeping with a night light.

Low blood sugar levels can cause nightmares at night, this is to alarm your body so that you wake up to get food, try eating a snack before bed tonight and see what happens. Ususally this occurs in diabetics ( like me, a Type 1), but you may be experiencing this if you have thiroid issues or even if you are perfectly healthy.

Also try some calming technics before bedtime, maybe a soothing bath with special soaps, yoga, polaties, PRAYER, this can help prevent anxiety. You might also consult your pastor, ( if you have one), and have your house blessed. I'm not rushing to demons or ghosts causing this though, don't worry.

Another thing is, I know of someone who used to have a disorder that when he was asleep part off his throat slightly sealed off, IT ALWAYS WAKES YOU UP, don't worry about chocking, but you wake up paniced and it happens often during the night, he had a surgery to get it removed. Merry Christmas! :D

Have you been checked for sleep apnea? Ask your doctor for a sleep study test. Waking up and gasping for air gives a sensation of choking and of course, it is scary.

Its anxiety!!! Try relaxing a little and get on a routine.. Eat good, play hard, rest well!!

Anxiety attacks from stress is all it is. Get some sleeping pills.

Sounds to me like an anxiety attack....My dear, we have no control as in our adrenalin excels whenever it feels like it rather than when it is supposed to. U need to get some medication for this and it will stop. I know, I am there,,,,,,,,,

It could be you are having the first signs of a flash back. It could also be signs of menopause (I don't know how old you are). It could also be adrenal fatigue or the effects. Maybe there's something in your diet you are coming 'off' of during your sleep, or it's just plain anxiety attacks. Hope this gives you some places to start solving this problem.
