When I had mine ... I stopped into the emergency room at the hospital. They had me first thing spray into my nose some Afrin nasal spray (nowdays I prefer Vicks sinex nasal spray). The decongestant in the spray helps stop the bleeding. Then they had me hold that side of my nose closed for a very very long time and wouldn't let me blow it.. Nowdays I stuff some paper towel in there to block it up while I wait for the blood to clot.
