Percentages of cartilage that get shattered with gun?!

Question: i need to know the ratio or likeliness or whatever

because, you have no idea how bad i want this and i FINALLY convinced my mother to let me get it done and i would get it done with a needle to aviod the problem but they are only available at tatoo shops and that is OUT OF THE QUESTION! (unless you know another place that has needles) she would not step FOOT in a tatoo shop..

do i just take the risk and not tell her the possibilities or what..

I just BARELY BARELY BARELY got her to agree, and shes still alittle unstable.. i dont want to risk it. helppp

Do NOT get your cartilage pierced with a gun. Cartilage is already a sensitive place to be pierced and guns are breeding grounds for bacteria and tissue trauma that puts you at an even greater risk for infection. Either talk her into going into a tattoo shop where a professional will take care of you or WAIT. Those mall kiosks that use guns are disgusting and people in the body modification world are begging for legislation to outlaw guns. I know you don't want to wait but I promise you when your ear is oozing pus, hardening, and painful to even lay your hair on you'll be wishing you did.

I had mine done with a gun, and my brother had his done with a needle, and yes, needles are only available at tattoo shops. My piercing healed slower, but I did not have any complications. My brother's healed faster with no complications, but it is very sensitive. The gun does not destroy a lot of cartilige because they use a small earring, ant the needles destroy much more because the needle is gaged, or bigger than the average earring. If it were up to me, I would take the gun again.
