Better to not submerge underwater, but what age kids can you get to do that? So, barring that possibility, the safest option would be to wait until it's fully healed and don't let your kids go underwater without goggles as the chlorine really irritates sensitive skin & eyes. No open cuts either.

yes as long as its chlorinated

no it has many many germs and you might get an infection and lose the eye not just the brow.

hmmmm... just to be on the safe side...no. Wait until about one and a half to two weeks for the hole to fully close just to prevent all infections. Good luck!

should actually help

not for very long, because the water will soften the wound. When my daughter had facial stitches last spring, her Dr. gave us a tube of medical grade super glue to put on her so that she could still go to a birthday party & swim. Call your Dr. & ask for some.

I wouldn't risk it.

Yes, just make sure to cover it

I think not. Generally, when people have stitches, they aren't supposed to submerge them in water, like in a tub or pool because of all the bacteria in the water. Showers are usually ok, because the water flows over the wound and goes away.

If you can keep the child from dunking his/her head in the water, just cover the stitches well with a waterproof bandage and let the child play in the pool with his/her head above the water. After pool play time is over, wash the area as directed by the doctor, and as always, be watchful for tenderness, swelling, redness, or drainage at the wound site.

If you have more concerns, you should probably call the doctor's office for advice.
