Could i have asthma?!

Question: Over the last week or so i developed a rather severe cold but with it has come this really nasty cough. I am only a little wheezy when not having a coughing fit and have no chest pains but when the cough comes on it can last for ages. I am unable to catch my breath and it feels like 'I can't get the whole cough out'. With this i get a prickly sensation in my throat and the cough gets worse at night. Last night for example I had 15 mins sleep in total because every time i dozed off i woke up spluttering and gasping for breath and took me hours to be able to breathe again properly. can a cold bring on asthma that is normally lying dormant? I guess my real concern is its a bank holiday so do i really want to go to A&E and waste their time? But do i also want another night fearing for my life? I was very close to calling an ambulance last night but then it calmed down. any ideas?

You sound like you are suffering from either acute bronchitis or asthma brought on by a cold. You definitely need to see a doctor o get some inhalers (e.g. Ventolin, Bricanyl) and may be antibiotic as well.

go smoke some weed

I think you have asthma. I have asthma so I think you should see a doctor.

you might, id go to a doctor and get checked for sure. if you are experiencing breathing troubles again try running a HOT shower and breathingthe steam(it helps) also try drinking hot beverage(coffee tea etc. for the same reason) .

Go see a doctor. You may have asthma or you may have pneumonia. Try a hot steamy shower also try to drink strong coffee the caffeine can help till you can see a doctor or you could also try primitine mist inhaler , it is over the counter .
