Do smoking patches really work? Is so where can i buy them for my mom?!

Question: you can buy nicotein patches at the grocery stores or cvs/walgreens, but i would advise you not to bother.

the only way to quit smoking is to want to more than anything, decide that you're done, and quit cold turkey. Regardless of what anyone else says, its the only way to quit. If you're done, put them down, and never touch them again - period.

you will have to tell her to find something else to do with her hands and other things to do for the 10-15 minutes breaks she used to take when quitting.

I have quit smoking after 10 years of doing it and I have also (unrelatedly) lost over 100lbs. Let me tell you - quitting smoking was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. It won't be easy but you just put them down.

There is no easy fix. Even after 10 years I still have cravings from time to time.

Tip: i would take brisk walks when the urges were bad, i would buy cigars and suck on them (not smoke them!) for a few mins up to a month later. You have to completely realize you will always want a cigarette - once you get that in your head, it will be a lot easier. The urge never goes away.
