Does getting blood taken hurt?!

Question: im 18 and i cant remember the last time i got blood taken, or a shot or anything. i was probably a baby.

and ive been dizzy for the past week or so.
it might be an ear infection.

but my mom is low on iron so it might be possible i am too.

so my mom wants me to get a physical
and get my blood taken and stuff.

but im scared to get my blood taken :x

everyone tells me it does hurt, but not to the point where you're going to cry or anything.. i guess more like omg that HURTS.

A blood test does not hurt at all. The only thing you might feel is a tiny sting when the nurse puts the needle in your arm. It is done very fast and if there is any chance at all that you have low iron then the blood test is really needed so that you can get some medication and change your diet to include iron rich foods.

It will sting a bit but I have found the worst part is awaiting the dreaded needle not the needle pain itself.

Nope, not at all, you are just anxious about it. Sometimes it helps to have someone with you when blood is drawn, or engage the nurse in a conversation or be singing a song or thinking of something pleasant. Thye anticipation is the only thing that can be painful. Don't fret about it.

No. i just hate the fact of needles in me. look away you will feel a pinch then your done.

keep your arm straight and still and you wont feel anything.
