Does smoking cigarettes help you lose weight or gain it?!

Question: I've alway been confused on this, i've heard both but want to know for sure.

Answers: I've alway been confused on this, i've heard both but want to know for sure.

Smoking and inhaling one cigarette will burn 20 calories due to increased heart rate. Smoking an average of a pack a day will burn 400 calories a day.

Eventually it will help you lose weight when you get cancer, get sick and then die.

It helps you lose weight, but the effects aren't worth it, you're better off starving yourself.

idk

I've never smoked, so I don't know

Some people believe it helps curb their appetite but I just don't buy it. So many people I personally know who smoke are on the hefty side so you tell me. I know some people won't like my answer, but that is how it is around me. Another thing is that smoking affects your breathing so I don't personally know anyone who smokes who can do any exercise beyond walking. Even then they have to stop to light up. I say if you don't smoke don't start. Look at the money you can save by not developing the habit. A carton is what $30 (average) times 4 a month that's $120 now times 12 months equals $1440. You can treat yourself to something special with that.

Either way its not good for you. I wish I had never started, and am having a hard time quitting.

It really doesn't matter. You always end up dying of lung cancer anyway. If your dead, who cares if you're fat or skinny. Don't smoke. You'll just turn into what the media is pushing America's youth to conform to.

Both. You start smoking, get addicted and stop feeling hungry as often. Downside being that if you keep smoking you become more susceptible to illnesses, bronchitis, and athsma. Also, once you start smoking then decide to quit, usually you'll end up in worse shape than you were before you started. It is really not worth it.
