Am I too tiny?!

Question: I want my belly button pierced, my parents are considering it but they're worried that I'm too small. I'm 14 1/2 and just naturally tiny, I weigh 85 pounds. Do you think that's too tiny to let it heal properly?

your weight could be an issue in your healing your belly button. it's not that your underweight, but you don't weigh enough to donate blood either... you have to weigh 120 pounds to donate blood the the Red Cross... it's not an issue of being unhealthy, but it's a lot on your body. I would like to see you wait a little longer and maybe when you're 17 or 18 and nearly done growing... I know that sounds like eternity, but I think time would be better and you might heal better when you're older and your hormones are more balanced out also.

Being small shouldn't matter.

But you're 14, that's a bit young. That's what your parents probably mean.

I think that you should probably wait a little while. You're still going to grow for a few years yet, and you wouldn't want to end up with nasty stretch marks are you grow due to the piercing. Leave it a few years. And from a guy's point of view, it's not really attractive.

no but leave it till ya a bit older xxx

you are a bit under weight. im only 12 and i weigh 97 pounds. um, i would see your doctor and ask him / her about it. it could be serious.

but i would wait a little longer to get your belly button pierced. somebody at my dance studio got their belly button pierced when she was 13, and her belly button got infected within 2 months. she is now 15 and shes fine, but i would still wait on it.

You're really young to be getting your belly button pierced. Wait until you're at least 16.

I would also wait till your at least 16 to get it pierced. But as long as your healthy it should heal just fine.
