Really and truly I would suggest that you go back to the doctor and ask him...this sounds like it could be serious...or not...who knows, but why would you want total strangers giving you advice on your health issues when we know nothing about you or your medical history. This is nothing to play around with, it sounds like your vital organs may be involved, but maybe not...go see a professional, if you do not get the answers that you want...get a second opinion till you get some help.

have they checked your kidneys? that could be a place to start.

i had something similar to that...aparantly, all i needed was an adjustment at the cyropracter (or whatever that dude's called that cracks ur back, lol). or you could be dying. either way, sucks to be you. ^^

Kidney stone, gall bladder, or just the fact that your name scared suggests you are a hypochondriac.

well you could have appenicitis it is when you have pain by your left side of you low back right in the middle!! but it may just be your bones growing if anything you should go see a doctor!!

Does the pain ever move? or become more intense? It sounds like a possible kidney stone. Sometimes the pain varies, but if it sharp and intense...it is possible. I'm not sure of your other issues. If you have been taking a lot of medication or vitamins they can lead to stones. A regular xray can usually detect stones, along with a urine test.

Not require to be stressed as it may cause another related decease,so don't worry about pain it may be a spasmodic pain which will subside spontaneously.

it could be stress, but it might also be stones, try drinking alot of water and if when you start to pee normally you still get that pain then you really might have stones in your kidney or in your gaul bladder. try also going to chronic pain doctor cause they do a complete evaluation as to what might be the matter with you.

You may need to drink plenty of water. My sister had those same type of pains and it turned out that she has gal stones that needs to be removed. Its when they start to move that makes the stabbing pains. Go back to the doctor and get a second opinion because these things could take along time to find out whats really wrong.

Hard to tell, but from the area you're describing it could be your left kidney, as they're situated more to the back of your body rather than the front.

You say it's every once in a while... there is a chance you could have a kidney stone/s. The pain from this can come in waves and can be very severe, including causing nausea and vomiting when the waves of pain come on. You've said that you had scans and things done, if you had stones they should have picked them up. If you had these scans a while ago tho they may have developed since then. What else...it could be a urinary tract infection? But i think that the pain would be a bit further down towards your bladder area, still a possibility tho. Check your urine for any blood as this may be an indicator of an infection or kidney stones as well.

I couldnt really tell from your question exactly how long this new pain has beein going for, but if it has only been like the last few hours/days and if you're sexually active there is a slight possiblity that it could be an ectopic pregnancy. This is where the foetus lodges in the fallopian tubes rather than making it all the way to the uterus. The pain from this can be very intense and comes in waves. If this is the case it is a very serious condition and requires medical attention immediately!

Really it could be a problem with any of the organs in your abdo cavity, intestines, gall bladder, stomach, your appendix?, and down to your kidneys and bladder. Best thing would be to go and get it checked out again...I know you may think it as being an unfruitful experience but they may be able to detect something and be able to fix it!

All the best, keep us posted!

Hi there. You had a doctor last year who put you through a bunch of tests....at least a CT and Ultra. You didn't say if it was an abdominal ultrasound or a KUB (kidney, ureter, bladder). You didn't say why you haven't returned.
Guess you had a urinalysis and blood work done too.

Left side rules out gallbladder. Gallbladder is right up under the right rib area. Pain can be felt in the front and back and you feel like you want to reach in the middle of your body somewhere between and sooth the pain. But a bunch of stress can give you an ulcer which can locate itself in the left side of the stomach, or even the upper corner of the descending large intestine which loops up nearly under your left ribs before reaching downward toward your lower belly. You could have a diverticulitis which is a "crack" in your intestinal wall that can become inflamed and cause pain from time to time. This is usually if you are an "older adult".

Close to under your left rib area is your pancreas. You could have pancreatitis which can be serious but treatable.

In a woman, on her left side about 3 inches from her navel and upward a notch is her left ovary. (the opposite for the right ovary) There can be problems with it if you are from a teen to middle aged. Need a GYN to check this out.

Keep in mind, pain can "radiate". That is, it may be caused by something several inches away from where the pain is felt.

If you can put your hand in the "small" of your back to the left of your spine and feel a "dull" ache that sometimes can be relieved temporarily by changing your position, but comes back, could be a kidney infection. Also, the tubes that run from your kidneys to your bladder (called ureters) (one on each side) could have a kidney stone trying to work it's way out. This stone, the size of the tiniest grain of sand, can cause tremendous pain.

OK, now you have about all I know. I hit on several things here that could possibly cause your pain.

You need to make an appointment with your doctor and remember this stuff here and see to it if they test you, they need to rule out all this stuff and not just "blame" it on stress and let you go. Stress causes real physical ailments.

If you are under stress "again", you need to work on the reasons for that, because, literally, stress can kill you. It's an emotional response that your body takes the brunt of. Stress never cured anyone, only makes a lot of real physical things wrong with you. Good luck and God bless you.

I am an RN

Maybe you need to go to a different doctor who will get some tests done, then you can get an answer!
