Please read...need advice?!

Question: I was watching tv tonight, and saw a scene that made me flash back to when I was 12. In middle school, 2 boys had cornered me and had tried to rape me, in the school on the abandoned stairwell to the 3rd floor. I got away before they could rape me, and had COMPLETELY forgotten about it until that scene on tv in the stares with the steel cages around. I am so freaked out right now....please help?

A good way to not let those memories haunt you and affect your life now, is to realize that you made it through that event. You survived and are stronger than you know. Think about how that was a long time ago, and you've come so far to let that memory (or those boys) mess up what you've become today! Think of yourself as a winner, because you overcame it. And remember how important 'today' is...don't let the past come back to haunt you. Take care... :)

I've been there, so I know how it is! Once you 'take control' of those thoughts, it's easy to let go of them if they come back. Good luck and congrats on getting married! Report It

  • just take some deep breaths and realize your not 12 and your in control of your life and mind.

    Take some deep slow breaths.
Take in your surroundings realise where you are and no harm is going to happen to you.
If you feel dizzy, then breath with a brown paper bag over your mouth.

If you find this 'flash back' has a lasting effect I would go see your Dr.

Good luck, REMEMBER your not 12 anymore and you are safe.

As a friend advice please ignore the bad which occured in past to you . If you bring the past in present it will end up in nervous or pain. So try to think the good things happen in your past and try to make the present beautiful.

    Happy new year 2008.

    Look into the future.

Its just your fear and whatever happened in your past has been passed you should have to take it as a movie scene and don't co-relate with your past life.

If you still feels that you want advice from experts then you can check this site http://www.simplyanswer.com and get the answer from medical experts online.

But believe in yourself and do some yoga and do other activities and try to forget this. If you are busy in any work then you will be free from this fear.
