Sore throat? Or Strep?!
Question: I think I've diagnosed myself with a sore throat virus. I have a New Year's thing tomorrow and I really don't want to miss it. Is it possible to get rid of a sore throat in one day? I've been drinking tea every hour. Gargling salt water had no affect and I can't find any lozenges. Help?

if you have have a fever and your throat feels bad then it might be strp. Since the infection is bacterial it will have a higher temp. and it takes medicine to get rid of. The body can fight viral infections on it's own but you need a prescription to get rid of bacterial. You need to go to a doctor right away Strep can mutate if not taken care of so go to the doctor. You could probably still go to the party but it's highly contagious so do it at your own risk.... hope I helped... ;PPP... but if your fever is pretty low and since you have a runny nose, it's probably not strep and your throat is soar from all the drainage.... only if your throat gets really painfull or your fever pikes. I had strep once at school my my fever got up to 103.5 so it all depends.
OMG, You have Bird Flu. Get to the doctor quick you are showing the symptoms of it. Lack of aches is one major sign. I am being serious.
