Answers: Some one said that they couldnt sleep because they had really bad night scares, what are they?

There are actually called night "terrors." It is more common up until about age 16 but can happen at older ages.

Night terrors are very different from the much more common nightmares, which occur during REM sleep. Night terrors are characterized by frequent and recurring episodes of intense fear during sleep.

Boys and girls are equally affected by night terrors. This sleep "disorder" usually ends during adolescence.

They are also very vivid and can feel as if they are really happening, can cause sleep walking also.

Night terrors are worse than nightmares.....they can feel REAL and gross. When they wake up they may not stop for a few minutes.

Night scares are different from nightmares because they have no real imagery to go with the feelings of fear and/or terror. They are like just "feeling" a bad dream, instead of seeing 'Why' you're scared. Night scares are more common in preschool to about grade 2 children, because they don't really have the ability to visualize their fears, but they can occur at any time again during a person's lifetime, especially if you're dealing with a traumatic or scary situation that you don't want to face.
Best bet-- just start working on your fears, and also make sure you aren't getting too much caffiene close to bedtime.

Night scares or also known as nigth terrors are like a nightmare just really bad ones. I have them only when i'm sleeping in the same room as my brother. I sit up in bed and start screaming when my brother trys to calm me down and say everything is alright i scream even more. I hate them and they can last for a while. I hope I outgrow them. If you get them and someone says what you did last night you probably won't remember. or if someone your in a room with has one let them be or splash water on them. But you know don't poor a whole pitcher of water on them then they'lll just get mad.....
Hope that answers your question
