Many grown ups are scared to death of things like Snakes and spiders and bats. you don't just naturally grow out if these fears.

But you can overcome them if you want to. It is not really all that hard to overcome this kind of fear.

You can start by reading and learning about them. a big part of any fear is the fear of the unknown.

Then start looking at photos of the thing you are afraid of. Not an artist drawing that might be embellished.

The next step would be to start looking at the real thing. perhaps at a place were you can feel safe like a zoo.

If you can find a way the next step would be to actually start touching and holding the thing you used to be afraid of. No need to do this if the thing is actually dangerous such as a rattle snake or a bee.
.

I don't know if they go away because I am a grown up and I too are scared of spiders and snakes. It's normal to have a fear of those types of things.

Some fears go away through experience, some get worse. There is nothing wrong with fear, it's how you react to it that matters.

some people live with it,some get over their fears.i used to be affraid of the dark when i was younger, and now i cant stand it when the lights are on.i think that eventually as you get older that there are thing s more to worry about htan a spider or a snake,or even the dark.

age won't help you out grow your fears.

Learn as much as you can about the subject then if its worth it step up and face your fear.

Start at 13

You learn to cope and hopefully overcome your friends as you grow older. Some adults still possess their childhood fears b/c they are so painful, the key is learning how to control your fears and not allowing them to control you. Be brave and bold... change!

they normally stay. I am 42 an I am still scared of snakes, bats, spiders, rats

I think you just learn to live with it. I have been afraid of waterbugs (palmetto bugs) all of my life, and don't foresee that changing any time soon.

I'm sorry to say but it depends on the individual. If you are truly scared of these creature start by learning the facts about them and how they help our eco system. You'd also be surprised that you can find those animals that you listed in people's backyard eatting pest and vermin. Once you feel you can move forward to the next step, try volunteering at a zoo. Each step YOU make is another step away from the NUT house. lol. J/k Good Luck. Most times with age comes wisdom and with wisdom less fear especially of the unknown. No promises kiddo. :) I just talk from experiance.

Good question.
Don't worry. You're not alone. These are childhood fears. Whether the fear goes away or not depends on the person.

(I'm a grown up, and I'm still scared of cockroaches. When I see one, I run the other way...it's embarrassing). I think getting over the fear is something you have to train yourself mentally.

When I was a kid, I was nervous of those creatures.
But then I learned most bats are vegetarian, and don't attack or nest in the hair; and I found out which spiders and snakes are poisonous (just about none I come in contact with). After that the bit of fear I had stopped. I handle snakes and spiders, but the bats won't come close enough to perch, so . . .

Some peoples' go away, others don't. You can choose to not be afraid. It takes some effort.
