happy new year.

Shany: You need to drink a lot of fluid--but not alcohol. If you can get your hands on Gatorade, that would be ideal; it has glucose and electrolytes. Alternatively, fruit juice will do you a lot of good. Lots and lots of fluid. Aspirin is okay, but may upset your stomach and aggravate any damage the alcohol might have done to your stomach. Try tylenol instead. You can still take aspirin later, but if you do so, you should do it with food and/or Maalox. Don't drink too much coffee or tea today--they'll cause you to diurese (pee), and make you even more dehydrated than you are.

The symptoms of a hangover are caused by the accumulation of toxic by-products of alcohol metabolism (primarily aldehydes) and by dehydration. You want to replace the fluid and electrolytes and give the cells plenty of glucose to help restore chemical balance. Gatorade and tylenol, that's the ticket.

Good luck and good health.

Hangovers are great aren't they?

Don't take aspirin, in fact just take paracetamol. Do not drink any caffeine including products such as tea, coffee etc as these dehyrdrate you just like alcohol (They are diuretics)

Water never seems to help with me so just try drinking juice.
Hope this helped

You can take aspirin, but I would nake sure you had some food in your belly. If you can stomach taking an Alka Seltzer,,, it will work.
Have a safe flight,,, hope that pilot doesn't feel like you do!!

Happy New Year,,,, I kinda feel the same way as you this morning. I will never drink again,,,,, until I feel better!

Perhaps Tylenol is a better drug to take than Aspirin, in your situation.

Both alcohol and Aspirin can cause bleeding in the stomach. And using both one after the other might not be good for your stomach.

Ah the famous words the morning after, I'm never drinking again. You'll be back I promise. For the time being I would recommend a Gatorade, vitamin water, or just plain water. The reason you feel like crap is alcohol dehydrates you very quickly and your head hurts as a result. Aspirin or Motrin should be OK but never EVER take Tylenol before during or after you drink. It causes liver damage. Oh you know what else might help... a nice greasy plate of food. I don't know why but a plate of breakfast food usually helps me. Just remember a glass of water before bed when you drink will make the morning much more bare able.

happy hangover!!!

Food and Ice water helps by adding more things to your digestion and bloodstream and helps dilute or soup up the alchohol, not caffinated beverages, no asprin, the migrane is a part of the hangover...

good luck and thank goodness i'm sober...

yup, its a hangover..go drink an aspirin

Haha! Hope you feel better, what a crappy way to start the New Year! :) I always take 2 extra strength tylenol and drink as much water as possible....try and eat a little something also. Next time you drink,(even though you say you never will again!! LOL) try alternating one drink, one water, one drink, one water.....this will eliminate those nasty headaches in the morning.....also, if you turn into a "chain smoking chimney" when you drink, this could be adding to the problem as well, i've had to learn this the hard way....either way, hope your flight goes ok, try and catch a nap...... :)

plenty of orange juice i take alka selzer i find its the best AND good luck YOUR NOT ON YOUR OWN TODAY
