It will deliver less of the nicotine if any at all but as someone who has quit cold turkey, all you need is to wear it anyway to trick your mind into thinking it is helping you. Quitting is all in your mind as long as you have a reason to want to quit. When you get the urge to smoke, eat some minty candy or gum, brush your teeth, rinse with Listerine, etc. You won't want to smoke at that point. Also it is imperative to avoid those activities that "just go with" smoking such as DRINKING, overeating to the point you're stuffed, going on drives without gum, and being bored. Get your mind working and you won't think of smoking. Good luck, You can do it and good for you for wanting to better yourself!

It will probably just deliver a lower dosage. Ask your doctor if you are concerned.
