A nervous reaction - I dont see why people cant develop a hyper allergic reaction to sounds. You obviously have.
I dont hear that sound usually - you work in catering?
That is pretty wierd. I think its just a response to getting scared by the sound. Maybe fright affects your lungs somehow.
