Absolutely. Retention of feces in the colon, if it occurs chronically over a period of years, can contribute to colon cancer. At the very least, infection and inflammation can occur.

There is a condition called Hirschsprung's Disease where the afflicted person's colon does not have a particular type of cell that helps the person sense when his/her colon is full. Therefore the colon can fill with feces without any sense of "needing to go" and the colon becomes enlarged. A condition called Toxic Megacolon can then result.

At this point medical intervention, sometimes invasive (i.e., going into the colon through the rectum to empty it) can be necessary.

Not a gross question at all.

yes very possible. thats why some people get their colon cleaned out.

if you've got bowel movement issue, one solution is to give yourself an enema. You fill the bag, pictured on the link, with warm water, about 97 to 100 degrees fahrenheit, to match your internal body temperature. you insert the tip into your anus, then hold the bag up to let gravity let the warm water flow down and into your colon. As ;your colon fills up with warm water, you should have the urge to go within seconds, so you do this in the bathroom next to the toilet, or while sitting on the toilet.

Chit is a waste product. It's not good to store it in your body any longer than necessary. If you really have this problem, I would go to the doctor asap.
