What do hospitals do with bad organs?!


Question: I know they just can't throw them out and I know they don't keep them but what do they do with bad spleens or tonsils or just plain bad organs.

I know this might scare you, but I am pretty sure there is a large erm, oven in the basement of hospitals where they are all burnt.

gross I know, my girlfriend worked at a hospital. If someone dies and no family is there to plan a funeral, thats where the bodies go as well.

They usually ground them for a week with no TV.

If you find a Chinese Restaurant near a hospital - don't eat there.

Actually, most bio-hazards get incinerated.

They send them to the hospital kitchen.

Samples of the organs may be taken for biopsy. The remainder are incinerated, either by the hospital or (if the hospital is a very small rural one and doesn't have the budget) by a company that picks up biohazard wastes.
