You shouldn't as long as you are sensible with your diet and are as active as normal. I haven't heard that gall bladder removal causes weight gain however up to 50% of people do suffer from some wind and bloating from time to time after their ops.

Good luck :-)

Hi Sarah, if you look after yourself after you have your op then no you will not put weight on. Don't forget that after your op the bile now drips out straight into your stomach. so you still have to be careful what you eat. I have a tendency to put on weight so i am just careful, you may go a bit "mad" on food straight after your op because you can technically eat anything. So just be careful they will advise you at the hospital after your op.

I had mine taken out your metabolism becomes slower, so that's why you gain weight. I have gained about in 14 yrs, 100lbs. But my sisters and cousins haven't gained anything. there fine so don't worry.
