Has there been any dispersal of radioactive materials from the Royal Marsden fir!

Question: There must have been quantities on-site for radiotherapy purposes.

Answers: There must have been quantities on-site for radiotherapy purposes.

Almost certainly, NO! The Radiological Protection Board (or its successor) has phenomenally stringent regulations regarding the storage of radioactive isotopes that includes fire protection to a degree (!) that far exceeds anything else in industry.

Good question...not sure of the answer....from what I have read it was maintenance areas and a couple of wards which were affected....not sure about radiology dept....

Are you expecting an environmental officer who is dealing with the event to be on here just now? If not then can't see how anyone else could possibly be able to answer that. Does anyone know if the fire got the radiology departments?

coils and rods used in these machines are stored in thick heavy containers

Im fairly sure the regulations would require them to be Very fire resistant.
