People faint because of a lack of blood flow and decreased oxygen to the brain.

The cause or reason behind fainting can be related to a number of conditions or situations, some involving the heart, many not. The medical term for fainting is syncope (SIN-ko-pee).

they get scared, and so the adrenaline gets too high, they pass out

Fainting is the result of a sudden drop in blood pressure. Blood doesn't flow quickly enough to the organs so your brain suffers a lack of oxygen. The result is passing out.

Blood dont reach your brain

i fainted once...it was like being asleep because i remember having a dream

Loss of blood to the brain is the main reason for fainting. Reasons for this happening are anything from hyperventilating to sneezing to hard to problems with the heart and circulation to the brain. It should always be checked out, but normally it is not life threatening.

well, i'm a dancer and whenever i faint it usuallty means that your dehydrated or undernourished. It happens when your body just kind of shuts down when it feels the levels of different chemicals in your blood!

EDIT: erika s, then it wasn't fainting then! when you faint you can't remember anything.

It's The Last Resort for your body protection. It shut down your body, so it can protect it self and recover fast both psychically and mentally or it just need to shut down so you will encounter less pain when the time is come for you to die. The different from sleep is when faint it is harder to wake you up.
