Why am I so tired?!

Question: I have always had issues sleeping. It always takes me forever to fall asleep and forever to wake up. It doesn't matter what time I go to bed it takes forever for me to wake up and even if I do go to bed early I still have problems waking up. I need to take a nap and no matter how hard I try not to have a nap I need one. I have had blood work done and there isn't a problem with my thyroid. I just recently took the tv out of my room which is helping with falling asleep but waking up is such an issue and with 2 toddlers I can't be this tired.
The only time I haven't had an issue with sleep is when I was pregnant the first time and obviuosly staying pregnant is not a soultion.

Maybe this is because u r very stressed out.....learn to relax..watch tv or read a gud book before going to bed...
and if u r being lazy..don't b so........

You may have a sleep disorder.(sleep apnea) check with your doctor to get a referral to a sleep clinic. If it is not a sleep disorder you may be the type of person who has a hard time relaxing so they can fall asleep. Try meditation techniques and or relaxation exercises and avoid eating 2 hours before bed. Go to bed at the same time every night.
See a dietitian or nutritionist to develop a healthy eating plan with adequate exercise so your body gets tired naturally.
Drink 6- 8 glasses of water with healthy meals and snacks throughout the day.(never skip meals) or you can try a protein shake for lunch.
Best of Luck.

I had a similar problem not too long ago. What I did was purchse a good sound machine from Brookstone. I use the sleep-rain function to go to sleep because the white noise is perfect for that. I leave it on all night. When my alarm goes on in the morning I change the machine to the wakeup-brook function to slowly wake me up in 5-15 minutes. I feel more rested when I slowly wake up rather than waking up immadiately when my alarm goes on. Good Luck!

Ruth M also has a point with Sleep Apnea. One good way to tell is if you sweat at night. Another thing could be Silent Reflux, like acid reflux, but it does not wake you up. If you so wake up sweaty I would go see an Ear, Nose & Throat specialist to help you.
