Why did I get sick?!

Question: I'm a germ-a-phobe...I wash my hands often and well, I'm very conscious of things I touch, I never put my hands (or anything) near my mouth, nose or eyes if it hasn't been washed recently. I am careful not to be in the path of anybody else who appears sick.

I don't get sick often, but I have a cold now. What could've caused this?

Being cold does not get you sick.

Its probably cause you didn't let your white-fighting-cells do its job. You sheltered the white cells and once you got a germ they didn't know what to do. They tried to be its friend but the germ back stabbed the white-cells and now the white-cells are zombies making you sick.

No matter how much you clean or wash you still have some germs on or around you. Nothing kills 100%. I haven't check with the recent studies but you might have grown a tolerance to anti-bacterial soap if you use it.

the cold germ is not only transfered by touch. it is also airborne. That could be the way you caught this cold. and the way it seems, you are obsessed with cleanliness. this also lowers ur body's immunity and when u get sick it is alot worse that normal

No matter what you do, you'll never be fully protected from getting a cold. Although staying clean and out of sick environments is a good defense, it doesn't always secure your health. There are somethings that you should look at in your everyday life, things that you may do unknowingly. For example, consuming sugar. Sugar lowers you immune system. While you may be like me, putting honey in you tea, think about how much candy, cakes, sodas/pops, or sugar-filled drinks you've consumed.

Stop being a hypocondriac okay. A cold is a virus and guess what viruses are not affected by antibacterials. The cold is transmitted by air and not just touch. Plus here is a reason why you are sick.

I never get sick and I don't wash my hands, take prescriptions, or use antibacterial stuff. Here is my secret. Pretend your immune system is a basketball player and germs are practice. Your immune system needs practice to fight off disease. If you protect yourself with man made crap your immune system won't get any practice. Disease will overcome your immune system like the Miami Heat going against a two-year old. Give it practice. That is the same reason why wild animals don't get sick, until we give them or stuff. The reason why most animals die early in zoos because we give them synthetic stuff.

THis message goes out to all of the germ-a -phobes and hypocondriacs out there in America!!!
