Toxicology questions?!
Question: I am writing a mystery novel in which a character overdosed on some prescription meds. Since I do not have a PhD or any knowledge of toxicology, I was hoping someone on here can help me with a few questions. I would be able to develop the plot better once a few questions are answered.
Is there a way to throw off the results of a toxicology? Is there anything the victim can do or take to achieve this deception?
How long after death must a toxicology be done inorder to receive accurate data?
That's about all I need to know for now. Thanks!

Yes, wrongful reports can be made if the person had allergies.
Time limit? For things like arsenic and lead -- traces can be found decades later.
