It means you have a low blood count. You should take iron pills for it.

There are different types of anemia. Low iron anemia, sickle cell anemia, b12, etc. It isn't life threatening but a simple blood test can tell if you are.

I don't think anemia is directly life threatening, but it can cause other problems. In a severe case of anemia, you may need a blood transfusion.
