Is there any such thing as the stomach flu?!
Question: I became sick on Thursday. Seemingly out of the blue. Had a slight stomach ache on Thursday morning, then by noon I was beginning to get sick. Left work early and was in bad or the bathroom for the rest of Thursday and Friday.
I am doing better now, but was wondering what the heck did I just go through. Is there such a thing as the stomach flu or virus or did I just go through a food poisoning.
Note: I had ground beef on Wednesday, but I know I cooked it well. I have not bought ground beef since the recalls back in September. Any opinions...thanks

Sounds like you had the stomach flu to me. Yes, there is in fact such a thing as the stomach flu. With a common flu virus you don't usually become physically ill - you'll just experience the common symptoms such as sneezing, coughing, headache, slight fever, etc. With the stomach flu you'll experience those symptoms along with becoming physically ill.
I don't think it was food poisoning considering you said you know you cooked your ground beef completely.
As long as you're feeling better now you should be fine.

It is any ones guess. If it returns see you doctor to avoid dehydrating. and for several more days eat bland food and avoid acidic juices.
