I have trouble sleeping when people make noise, what can I do?!


Question: My roommates stay up until 2-3 a.m. and I have to get up at 5 a.m., but I can't get to sleep with them making noise. What can I do to get to sleep quicker? I ask them to quiet down and they do a bit, and I'm in this lease for another 5 months. I also need to hear my alarm in the morning, otherwise I won't wake up. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I am being serious on this. I would suggest subjecting yourself to even louder and more annoying sounds to wake up by for about a month. I grew up in a home where the morning routine was my parents and my sisters would always have yelling matches before school. View the noises with a disconcerned detatachment instead of letting them get under your skin and eventually you will be able to sleep through lesser noises. For louder noises, I would suggest: turn your alarm up as loud as it will go, set an alarm on a stereo system. When the alarm starts going off, don't get mad, just lay there and let your body relax with the noise going.

buy ear plugs. my dad uses them b/c he is a light sleeper and they work great for him. and if you set your alarm loud enough, i'm sure you'll be able to her it

earplugs :) and get one of those alarm clocks that have wheels and roll around everywhere. put it by ur pillow, and then it will go over u, and it will DEFINITELY wake u up. lol
