Killing me!?!

Question: My neck is absolutely killing me right now! I can't even move it without it throbbing in pain. I went snowboarding at about 1 AM on New Year's (Tuesday) and landed weird after going off some moguls but I didn't hurt my head. My neck just started throbbing last night and it was so bad I couldn't sleep, I've been up since 10 AM yesterday. What can I do to ease the pain? I'm 16, if it helps...

Advil/Tylenol and get a heating pad and place it on your neck... that'll do wonders. Trust me.

If you can't sleep, take 2 Benadryl. That does it for me... (If you take Benadryl, no point in taking the Advil...)

Hope you feel better dude.

PS> If it gets worse, see a doctor or at least tell someone like a parent that something isn't right, because if you did somehow do some serious damage, you would need to get that checked out... but you were probably just taking it a little too rough.

coming from a frequent snow board wiper outer, i feel your pain. the best thing to do is take advil or something like that for your muscle pain and applying heat can also help ease the tenseness and soreness of your neck. feel better!

also you can get some one to massage the muscles in the neck to loosen them up a bit

Any type of pain that keeps you up at night needs to be evaluated by a healthcare professional. You are pretty young, so I would not chance putting off a trip to your MD or Emergency Dept. ASAP. It could be a number of things, but why speculate. Go get medical help STAT!
