both the amount and how often are important...

Someone who has 1 drink every day is probably fine (like a glass of wine with dinner for example) but someone who is having multiple drinks a day, especially to the point where they get tipsy or drunk is an alcoholic.

If someone drinks 1 maybe 2 drinks a day, then no that's not really an alcoholic. I guess it depends on the person.

yes. she is abusing alcohol because she finds relief in drinking and since she does it everyday, then yes, she is an alcoholic. Help her take the first step in finding help by helping her admit she is an alcoholic.

If she's having a small glass of wine with dinner it's supposed to be healthy. More isn't from what I've heard.

ALCOHOLIC
My dad had to go to aa meeting
The judge ordered him to go
he drinks about 3-5 beers everyday

If she couldn't manage to isolate herself from alcochol for atleast a week i'd say she's alcoholic

If she drinks more than 2 a day then yes she is considered an alcoholic. also she is more suseptible to kindney diseases and kindney failure.

It really depends on how much she drinks. If she is to the point of being intoxicated then yes she is an alcoholic or if she does not know when to stop drinking. If she has one or two drinks a day she is most likely not an alcoholic. Europeans have wine at lunch and dinner.

Drinking every day is not always a sign of alcoholism, although if she can't skip a day once in a while, it might be cause for concern. Still, a cocktail or two, or a glass of wine with dinner, is perfectly normal. I don't think you need to worry unless she starts getting drunk on a daily basis, rather than just having a drink or two.

Yes, this would make her an alcoholic. I feel if someone drinks daily they are using it as a coping mechanism to feel better, less stressed, more in control, happy, whatever the reason. Does not matter what they drink, how much, time of day or anything else. This person should seek help with a group like AA or get counseling to see why they are drinking in the first place.

I think that neither of those variables is important; in my opinion it's how often they get drunk and why they drink.
Do they get totally smashed every day, or maybe once a week?
Do they use the drink to drown their sorrows, or as a recreational beverage?
Another factor might be their tolerance to alcohol, but the best way to tell may simply be this: has alcohol ruined their life?
