Why are feet so ticklish?!

Question: Even though we beat them up from walking on them all the time and they are still so sensitive.

Answers: Even though we beat them up from walking on them all the time and they are still so sensitive.

Feet are pretty amazing...although I'm sure that if I went barefoot all the time, mine wouldn't be nearly as sensitive. There is a limit to the abuse they can take and still be ticklish.

All those nerve endings are obviously there to feel the terrain of the ground as we walk -- we all know that. But mine have been used in a million other hysterical ways, for which I'm eternally grateful.

They have alot of nerves.

same lol

haha good point . i don't know, but not everyone's feet are ticklish.

I have no idea, but I'm glad that mine are ticklish.

It would be easy to echo the obvious answers given by any of the previous posters. Happily, however, mine are about to be tickled in less than an hour. In the interest of the advancement of scientific knowledge, I shall contemplate your question all during my tickling, as best I can, and see if I can come up with any profound answers. I shall predict beforehand that such concentration will render my feet more ticklish than usual, which is actually quite an accomplishment.
