the main thing is you just answered it yourself. you get nervous. try some relaxation tactics to help you feel more at ease in front of people.if it is only when you are nervous, speech therapy may help a little, but mostly you need to be more sure of your self and do not be afraid of speaking to people. sounds like you are a bit shy.

public speaking classes, debate classes, even just reading out loud in front of the mirror are good for practise .

i am not real sure

go see a speech therapist

Go and take speech lesson they might help with those stuttering incidents.

bite your tounge.

when you sing you dont stutter, right? try to say your words melodically.

You should see a counselor. How to cope with this. They will give you some tips to how to relax & not to stress your mind.

Your not crazy, but training how to cope things needs work.

Practice using punctuation when you write. This will give short sentences. It will then carry over to your speech.

I am not 100% sure, but I would say that maybe if you talked to a counselor of some sort they would be able to help you stay calm in stressful situations.

ok....I remember...it's a device that plays your voice in your ear, and somehow it makes you not stutter

do some research, I saw this on discovery channel

it really worked and took care of 95% of stuttering problems with even the worst stutterers

theres nothing you can possibly eat to stop stuttering but the thing is to be confident with yourself and know that you are doing your best and maybe it wont be as bad

I have this same problem, for starters quit holding your breath. You don't think you do that do you? Well, let me assure you you probably do. Concentrate on this and if it is only in front of people or when you are uncomfortable the exercises for speech won't work. U just need to learn to calm down and LISTEN to what the other person is saying and not think so much what you are going to say. If it is a speech know it like the back of your hand so you are more confident. Practice makes perfect unfortunately it will take some time to be confident giving speeches. Try it out on your friends and family first. If a friend will be in the audience concentrate on them when speaking.

Try slowing down when you speak to others, and concentrate on what you are saying. If you need to pause for a second or two before beginning to talk, do that. I'm talking from experience, because I used to stutter sometimes when I was around seven.

Eating any type of food won't help. The true culprit here is getting "really nervous".

Therefore, something to calm yourself might help. Your doctor may suggest something.

Also, a speech therapist may be very helpful. If so, your doctor can put you in touch with one.

Take a deep breath. And focus on a spot just over their heads. Don't make direct eye contact it will make you more nervous. I think of something that makes me happy and it helps to calm me down. Good Luck.

take a class in public speaking....the more you speak in front of a group the more comfortable you are going to become therefore you will relax and not stutter as much. Also, a speech therapist will be able to help tremendously

i agre is from to much stress and you get too nervous picture everyone nude helps

Basically speech ttherapy will help but they teach you to speak like yer singing and you must learn to breath correctly. When we get anxious our heart rate rises and so does our breathing. So consider talking slow and try yoga to calm yourself.

There are tips from the Stuttering Foundation of America at www.stutteringhelp.org. Their book "Self Therapy for the Stutterer" was the source of help for my family. You can find it in part online, at some public libraries, and at Amazon.com as well as the Foundation's estore.
