The girl that sits next to me in band smokes weed?!

Question: I play the flute, and I am worried that some of the smoke may take it's toll on my lungs. As I play the flute, one of the most difficult wind instruments to play, this would not be a good thing. I am also worried that the smell may rub off on me (you can smell her from a yard away. She does the stuff pretty heavily, I think) and that I may get called out of class or something for using it. obviously they could prove I didn't with a drug test, but still I'm a freshman in high school and I really don't have time for that kind of crap.

If you were taken out of class on the whim you were blazing green, I would have no problem quickly saying "Actually, it's the girl beside me, search her bag if you don't believe me" No doubt they'll find something incriminating.

That being said. If YOU are not smoking weed, your lungs will be fine. If you aren't sitting next to her, playing flute, while she takes hits from a bong and blows them into your face.. Your lungs wont be affected. You have to actually SMOKE weed to get the affects of it's smoke..

you can report her to your band teacher or you can deal with it. she's not going to stop smoking.
sounds like your nasal passages are going to get more irritated than your lungs

This sounds like an average high schooler question. No if anything she would be the 1st one tested, and weed doesn't do damage to the lungs just cigarettes, so please don't worry. You have probably never smoked weed have you?
