I wouldn't say it was normal, but it does mean you have had way too much to drink. Alcohol is a depressant, it was the very first anesthetic because enough of it would put your lights out. Very drunk people will lose control of bodily functions, I've had patients not only urinate on themselves, in clothing and in beds- I've had them defecate as well. If you are drinking enough for this to happen, it's a signal you are drinking way too much. I bet it is embarassing, and you need to drink a lot less. If you are drunk enough to urinate in bed unawares, you probably are having unprotected sex as well. That could leave you with something a lot more serious than just wet sheets and a ticked off bed mate. If this is a regular occurence, you need to have an honest self evaluation of your drinking habits. Could be a sign you have a problem with alcohol that you need help to control. In the meantime, I suggest you drink a lot less.

When you are drunk, you have limited control over yourself and bodily functions.
