Why have i stopped drinking alcohol?!

Question: I used to drink nearly every evening for about the last 10 months. I stopped just after Christmas and havent touched a drop and not missed it...!!?? Whats going on its the frist time have really thought about it. I feel and look better my brain is sharper and my muscles are working better. I do enjoy a drink but now am 32 and am thinking the side effects are starting outweigh the benefits. Damn. The problem is now am thinking logically and well and have just started the process of buying a place and have just dumped my girlfriend. Am just worried my sobriety "high" will not last a when I do next go have a few pints am worried I will think..omg.. what hell have I done!!?? Will this "high" last for long??

After carefully examining your question, i'm now balancing it between good and evil. you've been drinking for 10 months but no benefit but now you've stopped, your brain is sharper and your muscles working better which to me i see it as God is trying to make you become the best man you can be but now the devil is trying 2 play tricks with your mind.
Don't go back to it ....

No eventually it will ware off. But stick to it

Its good news for you really.

There is a chance that you will not enjoy future drinks though... like you will see it as a threat to your new found happiness and at the end of the day - alcohol is SO over-rated.

I hope, for your sake, that the "high" lasts. The "high" that you feel is your body detoxing from being accustomed to having alcohol in its system daily. The reality is that despite the healthy benefits from drinking wine in moderation, alcohol is a toxin that takes a toll on the body with excessive use. It dehydrates you, it's a depressant and it is hard on the central nervous system.

I wish you continued luck with sobriety, and that even if you do return to drinking, that you do it only in moderation.

i had a few heavy benders over xmas, knowing i was off work.think i abused body too much and not drunk for over a week,so i know where ur coming from,i think my body is saying calm down and im 34

Oh heck, it sounds like your growing up!!!! Don't let it happen!!! I'm just 49 and my fiance keeps telling me that I'm growing up, mostly because I don't want to stay out half the night at the weekends any more. I won't grow up, but it's hard work now. :-(

I THINK THAT YOU HAVE SEEN SEN CE NOT DRANK ALL MY LIFE NOTHING WRONG NOT TALKING LIKE APRAT WHEN DRUNK VOMITING AND ALL THE NICETY'S OF BOOZE

i hope it does and you stick to it and it works out,
i like the odd drink, but did notice before crimbo it was sneaking up on me (ie 4 beers in a night not one or 2) i've found that everything depends on circumstance and nothing said for monday will be true for tuesday

so just best a luck

The problems you are encountering are due to a excessively high blood level in your alcohol stream. You are in serious danger of running headlong into reality and this can be psychologically damaging to the unprepared mind especially if you don't have a woman to point out all your fallibilities as you stumble over them. Moral, physical, psychological and indeed chemical support should be sought very soon at your local tavern.

ITS GOOD THAT YOU STOPPED DRINKING BUT THE FEELING AND qUESTIONS YOU HAVE NOW WILL GO AWAY AFTER A COUPLE OF WEEKS OR MONTHS
TRUST ME!!! I BEEN THERE TOTALLY AND IT WILL GO AWAY
