How much is too much?

By the time symptoms show up, the damage is already done, and its too late to do anything about it. The liver can regenerate itself as long as the damage doesn't cause scarring. Scarring occurs when a toxin in the blood overwhelms the liver. The liver gets overwhelmed when it receives a chronic amount of a toxin in small doses, or a single blast of toxin in a large dose. So, with alcohol, if you drink more than one or two servings per day, you can cause chronic damage after several decades. If you drink alcohol in binges - where you throw up or nearly pass out, each of these events can cause a small amount of damage, which is sometimes permanent. Avoid heavy binges and limit the daily intake of alcohol, and you probably will not damage your liver. The biggest risk occurs when people mix different toxins, like taking acetaminophen to get rid of a headache from too much drinking. Acetaminophen is extremely toxic, and when it is mixed with alcohol, a single dose can cause part of the liver to scar.

your skin will turn a light yellow color around your face+ hands , you'll feel weak + it's time to recoup
