Well...I am a college student as well and I procrastinate... sometimes. When it comes down to having to write papers, I procrastinate, but I get it done and I always end up with good grades on my papers. When you feel the urge to put the assignment aside....DON'T! Push past that urge and get it done so you won't have to think about it or worry about having to do the assignment. If you work well under pressure, then procrastinating isn't all that bad for you. Just do whatever is the best for you. I hope this helps. Take care and God bless!

Well...a....a....a...maybe I'll answer your question later

Number one is turn off the computer unless you have to have it for an assignment.

Number two, if you must have the computer for an assignment but do not have to have the internet, turn off the internet.

Number three. Do your homework as soon after class as possible. You will remember more of the information therefore the homework will be easier. Also your free time will be truely free because you won't be worrying about your homework that still needs to be done.

Number four. Plan to do homework each day for a short period of time. Do not study for more than two hours without a thirty minute break. Your brain needs time to organize the information you have fed it.

Number five. If you catch yourself saying "I should be doing my homework right now" stop whatever it is you are doing and go finish that homework. I know this is difficult, but it is the best way to break yourself of procrastinating.

As to why you started procrastinating it just depends on your own motivations. Some reasons include:

The person thinks they have to do the work perfectly and are afraid of failure.
The person thinks they can finish the work in less time than it actually takes and doesn't plan enough time for the activity.
The person gets sidetracked by other activities and forgets to get back on track.

If you are one of the people that gets sidetracked, make sure you get back on track as soon as you realize you are sidetracked.
