Hi there.....tell you what.....you should get sleepy about 16 hours after you wake up. If you stay up late, you will wake up about 8 hours from when you go to sleep. It's pretty much that simple

At some point in time, you went to bed late and slept late, say 9AM or 10 AM and if you got up earlier than that, you felt sleepy and groggy. But later, you woke up and were certainly not sleepy by 10 or 11 because that would only be about 12 hours since you got up around 9-10. Get it?

Tell you what, try to get up early, no matter what time you went to sleep. You will feel groggy at 7AM. But you should feel like sleeping around 11PM that night. If not, take 1-2 Melatonin. You can buy the Melatonin in the vitamin section of your drug store. It copies your own natural Melatonin that your brain gives off slowly as the sun goes down, to induce that sleepy feeling. Don't eat carbs within 2 hours of going to bed. Drink warm milk (Tea, coffee and hot choco all contain caffeine unless you buy decaf.). Take a slow hot bath, soothe yourself, and hopefully you are not under unresolved stress.

Melatonin is not a medication, it's a supplement. They come in 3 mg. tablets. You will get sleepy within 15 minutes as long as you are not "wired" from something else such as caffeine, or exercise or cold tablets containing a decongestant.

It is not a sleeping pill. If you have to get up in the night to go to the bathroom or take care of a crying child, you will hear whatever you normally hear and feel what you normally would feel. You should then fall back asleep as long as you are not anxious and stressed out about something.

Try the above for a few days.

By the way, nobody should get less energy as the day goes by unless they are old and the least amount of exercise tires them. Unless you work really physically hard all day long, your energy level should stay about the same until around bedtime.

Again, Good luck and God bles
