Are Fire Extinguishers Toxic To Humans and/or Animals?!

Question: Early this morning, my friend was opening up the store she works at.
There was a rather large bird that got in from the night before. After about an hour of dealing with this bird, I sprayed an extinguisher not at him, but behind the fixture he was under.
I got him "smoked out" and finally free out a door.
Can the extinguisher be toxic if breathed?

there are Halon extinguishers that 'eat' the air, which extinguishes a fire. if you have one of these it will say not to spray it towardsw a person, because you will suffocate them. other than that, i think they are safe to use around people and animals.

maybe

depends on the type of extinguisher.

they are filled with dry ice which burns the skin which will hurt.

about being toxic, i dont think so

for the most part no. they are non toxic there is only one that can kill that is Halot and it is only in huge systems and its not in Extinguishers and its not really toxic it just sucks out O2 but there are a few others that are but they are being band but there are some realllllly old ones that are but not new one that i know of not to Birds. no
