Can't sleep, any help?!


Question: I can't sleep tonight, i'm not sure exactly why though. I have an exam tomorrow afternoonn(actually this afternoon looking at the time) but its not an important one, I have been thinking about my gf a lot, i'm gonna propose to her soon and I am possibly too happy to sleep. I have loads of thoughts on my mind (mostly good ones) which could be stopping me from sleeping. i dont know.

does anyone have any ideas on how to get to sleep?
idealy i want ideas of warm drinks or that kind of thing.
i dont have any sleeping pills etc.
dont suggest masturbation.

You cant sleep, well join about 50 million people a night in the US with that problem.....here is what to do from a former insomniac....go to sleep at the same time every night...your body will get used to it....dont worry or fret about what you are going to do the next day.....you must be relaxed in bed, have a dark room with no, and I mean no noise, do not worry, if you are fretting at night in bed it will make you anxious and nervous....it will be much harder to sleep, go to bed when you get sleepy, do not drink any alchohol or coffee about 5 hrs or so before you lay down.....if you cant sleep get up and read for awhile.....you will get sleepy sooner or later.....always be relaxed......dont get hooked on Lunesta, Ambien or Rozerem......people start taking that stuff and want to stay on it forever.....a bad habit. Do what I said and you will start sleeping every night.

I drink tea to help me sleep, it has chamomile and valerian root in it...

But like you, have lots of thoughts in my head too!!

You probably don't have any sleepy tea in your cupboard, so maybe a horlicks and try to think of nothing when you hit the sack!?

Take the advise of those that recommend counting. It does not have to be sheep or anything else, just count.

Since counting is very boring, it relaxes the mind and erases all anxiety. If you doze off and lose count, just continue counting where you remember you left off.

take a nice hot shower .
