My pinkie toe is discolored and thick from a fungus how do I get rid of it?!

Question: the fungus, not the toenail itself. The dr. said the meds he could give for it are worse for me then the problem. Does anyone know another way?

1st question: When you say discolored what do you mean?
2nd: Why would the doctor say the meds are worse for you than the problem? Do you have other medical condition/s?
3rd: What meds are you taking? And for how long?

First you should realize that fungal infections are really "stubborn". They are hard to treat. Next personal hygiene is very important. Fungi love wet, moist areas. So you better clean your feet (soap and water will do) thoroughly and you must keep them dry. Avoid tight-fitting footwear. Third fungal infections can be really itchy but control yourself & try not to scratch it. Because you might just spread the infection to other parts of your body. And go see a BETTER doctor who will explain to you everything. You can apply topical anti-fungal meds & you can take oral meds as well. But you must realize that fungi does not go away instantly after a few doses. The minimum time of taking oral meds is 2 weeks. And anti-fungal drugs have side effects that's why I asked you if you have other medical problems. You should be careful if you have pre-existing liver dysfunction or impaired kidney function. I hope this helps. Go see a doctor. -dennisMD

pee on it the acid should kill it

Go to the Doctor and they'll send you to a foot person!

Oh Tommy R. I am soooo with you on this question.

Tell your doctor that the meds are not working and let his/her perscribe something else. You may be having an alergic reaction to the meds. The doctor has to know this so they can fix the problem

soke it in luck wam water with no soap dont sract it it burn if you do.
