How to fix my neck and upper back pain?!

Question: if you will answer to see any kind of a doctor you will be rated down or reported.
I need your honest help and only if you know the answer.
Chiropractors are dangerous because lots of people complain that chiropractors messed up their backs instead of fixing them.
There is a chiropractor that I know, he said that he would never touch his wife's back, because once you try to fix it then it will always be poping out.
So, please give me good helpful do-it-yourself advise, on how to fix my own back and neck, or how can my wife fix it for me.
Thank you for your time.

The reason many people with neck pain get back pain is because so much stress is on the muscles of the neck that it is bound to affect the back. It is also true that back pain can be the cause of neck pain. So it works both ways.

Sometimes pain cannot be avoided due to an accident and injury of some sort. However if you have not been injured there are many things you can do to prevent neck and back pain. Not the least of which is to maintain a good posture. This means no slouching in your chair as you are reading this article. One of the best things you can do for yourself is sleep on a good quality mattress. When I changed mattresses in there was an unbelievable difference in my level of pain. In fact my pain pretty much melted away once ahead of good mattress.

well, if you can, you should do some mild exercise like walking.
if you use the computer a lot, take breaks in between
stretching exercises like yoga may help but you should make sure the yoga teacher is certified...being active should help relieve the pain
also, try alternative therapies like acupuncture- once again, if you do, check to see if the acupuncturist is certified and follows hygiene standards... massage may also help by relieving the pain

also, check your posture... for example, getting in the habit of sitting with a straight back . don't twist yourself too much

hope your back and neck gets better.

Recently at work I slipped a disc and pulled a muscle. I'm not sure your exact problem, but this is what the doc told me. Fisrt, for the muscle, I had to give it time to heal. I'd put an ice pack on, then a heating pad, and keep rotating them. Simintaiously streching as much as possible until I felt pain, then backing off. After that healed (about 2 weeks), I would do some back exercises and ab exercises to take the pressure off my back bone. You can go to a locale physical therapy office and get the exercise for free, of just google it. Also lay on your back with your knees elevated. That'll take the strain off your back. Hope that helps.
