Is using listerine too often bad for my teeth/gums?!

Question: I'm a smoker, and when my boyfriend is around he doesn't like the smell of smoke, so I usually end up rinsing my mouth with listerine 5 or more times a day. Can this harm me in any way? Thanks in advance. :) ?

Listerine is very astringent. It's very high in alcohol content, therefore very drying to the gums/gingiva/mucosa. If you're going to use it so often, dilute it with water. Our practice stopped recommending it's usage at full strength because of this very issue. Over time, that type of use can begin to show in your mouth in various ways. I personally couldn't recommend you to do it.

No, this is actually very good for your teeth. The only way that it would harm you would be if you got blisters in your mouth, because Listerene is so abrasive. You would know if you had blisters though. Hope this helps! ;P

It's good for you. The second answer sounds good.

I don't think it would hurt you...

No it should actually help you.

listrine used so frequently can produce dryness of mouth more slyvation and even other effects, if you have to use it that freequently say 5-7 times a day ,dilute it with water so that abrasive action on the gum and mucosa is also diluted.....or for that pourpose avoid using listrine or any other mouth wash try cinamon instead or a mouth freshner

It can be damaging as it kills new skin cells. Mix it 50/50 with water. That is what I told my clients after I pierced their tongue.
