I ate regularly about 2 hours after my piercing and had absolutely no problems, no swelling, no pain whatsoever. I've never heard you can't have dairy - there were no limitations as far as I can remember, but I've had my piercing for about 10 years, so who knows if I'm forgetting something.

You have just made a hole in an organ of your body (I am assuming the tongue) why would you care what you eat?
