I'm 15 and looking towards getting a nose job. Stupid or Super?!
Question: I have a very large nose and i'm sick of having a it. I don't really let it bother me cause i'm very outgoing and joke about it but i would like it to be much smaller for my own benfit. I have already had plastic surgery twice. One on my ears to have them pinned back and on my nose but only to remove a birthmark within it. I think i'm ready to do it.
Painful? More then having your ears pinned back?
I'd like to know your thoughts

I have had my nose done twice actually, not by choice though. The first guy didn't do it the proper way even though he was board certified. Make sure you check out several doctors. It helps when they can do computer imagining to show you what it will look like. Or if they can show you pictures of previous surgeries they did. If they do it the right way they will probably break your nose.. thats what I had done the second time. The first night was pretty bad, but overall the experience wasn't all that painful (pain medicine helped lots!). And I absolutely love my end result. I had a deviated septum and a small bump which i despised, but now I can breath well through my nose and it looks cute haha. Your eyes get black and blue underneath and I actually had it that you could see blood on my eye and there is obviously going to be swelling and puffiness, but thats all normal especially when they break the bone. Honestly the worst part of the whole thing was having the packing/tubes taken out afterwards. I think it was totally worth it minus having to have it done twice but I would do it all over again! Do what makes you happy.. but just watch since this is your 3rd procedure not to get addicted to it.. remember you are only 15 you are still changing =)... Good Luck!

I dont think its stupid, if its something you really want to do then go for it, i think its a good idea, though i heard it was painful.

I'd recommend waiting until you've stopped growing for one thing although most doctors wouldn't do it at your age anyway, except on medical grounds.
Painful - yeah pottentially very due to all the bruising. You'll look like you did 5 rounds with Mike Tyson for about a week with a proper nose job. Removing a birthmark on the skin probably not as bad, but will still hurt.
Having your ears sorted - that'll hurt and see comment about Mike Tyson as that's proper surgery. Oh and remember, there is always a risk with surgery including discovering you're allergic to the anesthetic - happened to a friend and very nearly killed her...!
Wait till 18? Facial features could still change since your body is still growing and developing. Your nose could become smaller or your face larger, making your nose look smaller. Just wait 3 years for things to settle in.
i'd steer clear till you're at 18 years old. at least that way you can make sure you've stopped growing. you might think your nose is big but remember you are your own worst critic. also remember that everything is comportionate to your body and sooner or late you will grow into whatever you hate. in the end it's all up to you and your parents since you're still a minor. i have heard it's very painful but the person that i know who had it done also had her nose broken as apart of the surgery. you're best bet would be to look up information online and go in to talk to a surgeon who in your opinion is amazing at their work. be sure to ask for before and after photo's too as a proof of their work. if they are too pushy for you to get it done then that means they are only after money and do not care for your well being.

Your body is still developing. Unless it is a medical necessity, do not do it. It is no point to do it at young age for cosmetical reasons. Wait until you stop growing.
